Jaypee Sports City, spread over 2,500 acres, will include a state-of-the-art Cricket stadium that is being developed in two phases. In the first phase, which will be completed in 2011, the stadium will have a seating capacity of 40,000 people. This will be scaled up to a capacity of 100,000 people in the second phase, which is likely to be completed in 2013.
Situated near the Jaypee International race track, the cricket stadium has been designed in a way that will allow it to host multiple format sporting events and other entertainment-related events. The stadium will conform to norms and specifications prescribed by ICC and BCCI, with associated amenities like media and corporate boxes, medical facilities, merchandise stores, a food court, an information kiosk and many others.
With this new world class cricket stadium scheduled to be ready in 2011, cricket fans in the country have a lot to look forward to.
