Established in October 2007, Jaypee Sports International Ltd. (earlier named JPSK Sports Pvt. Ltd.), a subsidiary of Jaiprakash Associates Limited (JAL), is well on its way to completing the construction of India’s premier motorsports destination – Buddh International Race Circuit – which is expected to host India’s first ever F1TMGrand Prix in 2011. In addition to F1TM, the track is also expected to host other top-level international motorsports events from 2012 onwards.
The racetrack will be a part of Jaypee Sports City, which is spread over 2,500 acres. This facility will include a Cricket stadium that is being developed in two phases and which will have a seating capacity of 100,000 people. There will also be a hockey arena, a sports training academy and infrastructure for other sports.
